Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by 2DopeBoyz and Sherdog columnist Andreas Hale.

Between Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier, Miesha Tate-Holly Holm and Nate Diaz-Conor McGregor, the sport of MMA has seen a lot of trash talk, he said-she said and business strategizing in the media. Breen and Hale discuss how the public MMA space has evolved in recent years to become a political staging ground, how social media and “microwave journalism” have turned facts into subjectivities and why for pro prizefighters, constant publicity, even of a negative variety, can be especially valuable.

Breen and Hale also rap about Michael Jordan crying, Nate Diaz's emergence as a star, fundamental misunderstandings about “moving the needle” and how the process of star-making has been altered by changes in social and mainstream media.
