If the two women’s featherweight bouts on this card represent some sort of tournament for a shot at reigning 145-pound champion Amanda Nunes, then Spencer is the clubhouse leader to be the next title challenger.
Spencer has overachieved in her two UFC appearances since moving over from Invicta Fighting Championships. The Canadian quickly tapped out Megan Anderson in her debut and then put forth a game effort against Cristiane Justino, even if it resulted in a clear loss. She will look to rebound against France’s Fairn dos Santos, who made her own Octagon debut against Anderson and was submitted in October.
Fairn dos Santos has some interesting tools and could cause Spencer some trouble if this winds up as a kickboxing match, but the latter’s aggressive grappling game should run through her without much trouble. The pick is Spencer via first-round submission.
