The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday will pitch its tent at Madison Square Garden in New York with a pair of title rematches, as Kamaru Usman puts his undisputed welterweight crown on the line against Colby Covington in the UFC 268 headliner and Rose Namajunas defends her women’s strawweight belt opposite Weili Zhang in the co-main event.

As UFC 268 “Usman vs. Covington 2” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the 28 competitors on the card have generated to this point:

5: Welterweights in UFC history who have accrued at least 105 minutes of control time. The complete list: Georges St. Pierre (2:38:49), Jon Fitch (1:58:18), Usman (1:56:56), Matt Hughes (1:50:17) and Demian Maia (1:47:02).

9: Consecutive calendar years in which Covington has made at least one appearance. The MMA Masters rep went 3-0 in 2012, 1-0 in 2013, 3-0 in 2014, 1-1 in 2015, 3-0 in 2016, 2-0 in 2017, 1-0 in 2018, 1-1 in 2019 and 1-0 in 2020.

12: Seconds needed by Namajunas to submit Kathina Lowe with a flying armbar at Invicta Fighting Championships 5 on April 5, 2013. Having occurred in her second professional assignment, it remains her fastest finish to date.

3: Sub-minute stoppage victories on the Zhang resume. She dismissed Mei Huang with a rear-naked choke in 40 seconds under the Chinese Kung Fu Championships banner in October 2014, took care of Nayara Hemily Cascardo with a guillotine choke in 41 seconds at a Kunlun Fight event in February 2017 and buried Jessica Andrade with knees and punches in 42 seconds at UFC Fight Night 157 in August 2019.

40: Years of age for Frankie Edgar. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born in Toms River, New Jersey, on Oct. 16, 1981. Edgar confronts Marlon Vera in a three-round bantamweight feature.

8: Vera wins by submission, accounting for 47% of his career total (17). The Team Oyama standout’s methods of choice: three rear-naked chokes, two triangle chokes, one heel hook, one triangle armbar and one armbar.

7.29: Strikes landed by Shane Burgos per minute of UFC competition, placing him first on the promotion’s all-time list at 145 pounds. He ranks ahead of Max Holloway (7.18), Alexander Volkanovski (6.59), Conor McGregor (5.53) and Renato Carneiro (5.53). Burgos meets Billy Quarantillo in a three-round featherweight attraction.

149: Significant strikes by which Quarantillo has outlanded the opposition in his four UFC wins. “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 22 graduate has connected on 302 such strikes while absorbing only 153 in return from Gabriel Benitez, Kyle Nelson, Spike Carlyle and Jacob Kilburn.

1,229: Days spent by Michael Chandler as undisputed Bellator MMA lightweight champion. He enjoyed three separate title reigns at 155 pounds with the Scott Coker-led promotion, from Nov. 19, 2011 to Nov. 2, 2013, from June 24, 2016 to June 24, 2017 and from Dec. 14, 2018 to May 11, 2019. Chandler confronts Justin Gaethje in a three-round lightweight showcase.

19: Gaethje wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 86% of his career total (22). The former World Series of Fighting champion’s list of UFC victims: Tony Ferguson, Edson Barboza, Donald Cerrone, James Vick and Michael Johnson.

23: Years of age for Edmen Shahbazyan. The youngest fighter on the card, he was born on Nov. 20, 1997 in Glendale, California. Shahbazyan draws Nassourdine Imavov in a preliminary middleweight affair.

.764: Cumulative winning percentage between the 28 fighters scheduled to compete at the event. They boast a combined record of 411-121-6. Bobby Green owns the most wins (27) of anyone on the card, while Gian Villante has been saddled with the most losses (13). Green takes on Al Iaquinta in a pivotal lightweight prelim, while Villante tackles organizational newcomer Chris Barnett as part of the undercard festivities.
