Colby Covington Warns Kevin Lee Against Moving Up to 'Fight Real Men' At 170

On Saturday night, Kevin Lee publicly floated the idea of a move to welterweight. It didn’t take long for the unofficial mouthpiece of the welterweight division to respond.

Lee said he was “devastated” by his loss on Saturday night in his rematch against Al Iaquinta. “The Motown Phenom,” who cuts a considerable amount of weight to make the lightweight 155 pound limit and has called for a 165-pound division in the past, said he may consider moving up a division to welterweight to give him the best chance of claiming UFC gold.

Upon catching wind of Lee’s desire to join his division, former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington wasted no time delivering a warning against the move via Twitter. As fans have come to expect from the man who calls himself “Chaos,” it was rich with insult and hyperbole.

While Covington continues to blast via social media any newcomer or prospective newcomer to the welterweight division, from Lee to Ben Askren, he steadfastly maintains that his next fight will be a title shot against Tyron Woodley, in a booking that has been postponed due to injury at least twice.
