The Legacy Fighting Alliance on Friday put on a show in Branson, Missouri. LFA 67 featured the first tournament in promotional history, one of the tallest LFA fights on record and a rare body shot knockout.

LIKE THE DAYS OF OLD: The LFA unveiled its first-ever tournament during this event, as the headlining heavyweight bout between Daniel James and Patrick Martin served as one branch of the semifinals to crown a new champion. Renan Ferreira and Brett Martin will face off in the other semifinal at LFA 70 in June, with the winners meeting for the vacant heavyweight strap.

REAL VETERAN MOVES: In all six instances in which one fighter came in with more experience than his or her opponent at LFA 67, the more experienced fighter prevailed. One bout featured two men with 5-1 records, and another matched two fighters making their pro debuts.

GODZILLA VS. KING GHIDORAH: At a combined 13 feet tall, James-Martin tied for the tallest fight in LFA history. James and Martin each had one bout in the LFA cage against Calyn Hull, who also measures 6-foot-6.

RETURN TO FORM: As the fourth heavyweight main event in promotional history, the battle between James and Martin was the first between heavyweights to end in the first round. The remaining three all went into Round 5.

‘DOWNTOWN’ WENT UPTOWN: T.J. Brown flattened Ken Beverly with a head kick in the first round to earn the 14th knockout via head kick in LFA history, but it was only the second to come from a featherweight.

LIKE HUNT VS. STRUVE: Standing a whopping 10 inches taller than his opponent, Terry Britton was unable to capitalize on his height and reach advantages, suffering a knockout loss to Chris Hatley in the first round. Britton had the largest height advantage of any fighter in the LFA cage.

CHEL OUT: In stopping Chel Erwin-Davis with a body shot, Mike Breeden became the first fighter in LFA history to earn a knockout that stemmed from a single punch to the body.

A NEW BREEDEN: Breeden picked up his sixth knockout in his seven wins by dispatching Erwin-Davis in the third round.

IT’S A WASH: Both Brown (147.2) and Beverly (146.8) weighed in over the featherweight limit for their contest. This was the eighth time in promotional history where both combatants missed weight, and in six of those outings, the heavier party has won.

STAY OFF THE BEVERLY HILLS DIET: Beverly previously came in heavy for his promotional debut at LFA 61 earlier this year and one of three fighters to ever miss weight multiple times in the organization, joining Bobby Lee and Devin Miller.

AIR THE PRELIMS: By tapping out DiMarcco Hutchison on the untelevised prelims with a second-round armbar, middleweight Kyron Bowen became the first LFA fighter above welterweight to pull off that type of submission.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN: Coming into LFA 67, no non-title heavyweight bout had ever served as a headliner (67 events), Britton had never lost consecutive matches (six fights) and Garrett Armfield had never been defeated.
