Usman has now held the welterweight championship for nearly 1,300 days. He defeated Edwards prior to becoming champion, outpointing him to a unanimous verdict at UFC on Fox 17 in 2015.

Edwards, meanwhile, has not lost since his first encounter with Usman, the former British Association of Mixed Martial Arts titleholder having pieced together a 9-0 record with one no contest across 10 subsequent appearances. “Rocky” last fought on June 12, 2021, when he earned a unanimous decision over Nate Diaz at UFC 263. Edwards owns an 11-2 record in the UFC.

The remainder of the main draw features a bantamweight clash pairing Merab Dvalishvili (-135) with Jose Aldo (+105), a women’s bantamweight tilt pitting Lucie Pudilova (-120) against Yanan Wu (-110) and a light heavyweight affair matching Tyson Pedro (-800) with Harry Hunsucker (+500).
