The Insane Prop Bets of UFC Fight Night 139

UFC Fight Night 139 on Saturday in Denver resulted in one of the craziest nights in Ultimate Fighting Championship history, as it ended with one of the greatest knockouts of all-time. In addition to the wild main event, a number of bouts concluded in ways few saw coming. Here are the five most insane prop bets to cash at the Pepsi Center:

Yair Rodriguez Wins in Round 5 (+2500)

The unforgettable main event between Rodriguez and Chan Sung Jung emerged as the front runner for “Fight of the Year” and featured one of the most insane finishes in MMA history, as “Pantera” landed a no-look elbow with one second left in the fifth round to knock Jung cold. “The Korean Zombie” was on his way to winning a decision before he left his guard down and gave Rodriguez just enough of an opening to catch him on the chin with a strike he never saw coming. No one expected Rodriguez to win in the fifth round, and the prop on him doing so was +2500.

Donald Cerrone Wins by Submission (+650)

Only two upsets took place at UFC Fight Night 139, and Cerrone was responsible for one of them, as he submitted Mike Perry with an armbar in the first round of their co-main event. Though Perry was believed to have had the advantage in the standup department, he elected to take down Cerrone. It led almost immediately to his downfall, as “Cowboy” locked in an armbar for the finish. A pair of lucrative props on Cerrone cashed, with his winning in the first round and his winning by submission both hitting at +650.

Maycee Barber Wins in Round 2 (+500)

Barber, 20, showed the world why her nickname fits, as “The Future” destroyed Hannah Cifers with vicious second-round ground-and-pound. The undefeated prospect now owns a 6-0 record as a pro, with five of her six wins coming by knockout, technical knockout or submission. Cifers was beaten to a bloody pulp by the time referee Kevin MacDonald intervened 2:01 into Round 2. Barber has the look of a contender at 115 pounds. The prop on her beating Cifers in the second round hit at +500 for bettors who made the play.

Michael Trizano Wins by Decision (+253)

Trizano eked out a split decision over Luis Pena in a battle of undefeated graduates from Season 27 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Trizano won the season but did not get much respect from the oddsmakers. The Team Tiger Schulmann rep was given the nod on the scorecards in a close fight, the prop on his winning by decision hitting at +253.

Bobby Moffett Wins in Round 2 (+875)

Though the finish was controversial, Bobby Moffett was victorious in his UFC debut with a second-round brabo choke submission of Chas Skelly. Moffett had Skelly wrapped in the choke before the referee stepped in and stopped the bout, thinking the latter was unconscious. He was not. A rematch could be in the offing, and it is possible the result of this match could be changed to a no-contest. For now, Moffett remains the winner. The prop on his winning in Round 2 cashed at a hearty +875.
