After a year on the sidelines, UFC, Strikeforce and Dream veteran Jason High has signed a contract to join the World Series of Fighting roster.

Promotion officials announced High’s signing on Tuesday, although a date for his debut was not revealed.

High last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. Khabilov,” where he lost to current lightweight king Rafael dos Anjos via third-round technical knockout. High was not pleased with the stoppage and shoved referee Kevin Mulhall after the bout’s conclusion. As a result, he was released by the UFC and suspended for one year by the New Mexico State Athletic Commission.

The 33-year-old known as “The Kansas City Bandit” owns an 18-5 career mark, including a 2-3 record in the Octagon. Prior to falling to dos Anjos, High had posted consecutive victories over Anthony Lapsley and James Head in the UFC.
