Round 1

Kicking off this early morning of fights in China is a tilt in the women's bantamweight division between two Brazilian debutants Rosa (11-3, 0-0 UFC) and Procopio (6-0, 0-0 UFC). In charge of the Octagon is referee Thomas Fann. Procopio immediately starts out with a few low leg kicks, while Rosa tries to throw jabs back at her opponent. Looking for more low kicks, Procopio gets countered coming in. The two trade punches and Rosa already shows a little damage by her nose early. Rosa wings a right hand in a combination that partially scores, and Procopio responds with a takedown attempt that is rebuffed. Rosa scores a few effective one-two combinations punctuated by a leg kick, as Procopio continues to throw the leg kick that has also reddened up her foe' lead leg. Trading strikes, Rosa appears to be gaining the advantage, as each of her combinations are accurate and her own leg kick is doing some work. Procopio closes the distance to slow down the constant offense of Rosa, but Rosa breaks free and continues her success at range. Standing in the pocket and trading, striking defense is not nearly as important to these two ladies as they crack each other with sharp shots. Procopio sits down on a few punches that give Rosa pause briefly, and Rosa recovers and throws a slapping leg kick that sends Procopio's leg swinging backwards. Procopio advances with a one-two, and presses forward into a clinch, but she is unable to do anything with it as the round ends.

Round 2

Rosa starts off with the same aggression that did her well in the opening round, landing a right hand that snaps the head back of her fellow countrywoman. Procopio leans on more leg kicks, which are possibly her most effective strikes of the fight so far. Procopio blitzes forward with a right hook and a takedown attempt, but is stuffed yet again as Rosa makes her pay with a low kick. Although Procopio pulls into a clinch in the center of the cage, it is Rosa that makes use of it as she fires off a few short knees that make Procopio break off. Winging strikes at Procopio, Rosa misses with them and Procopio returns fire with a few of her own, before trying for a clinch and then falling to her back in an effort to pull the fight to the ground. Rosa wants nothing to do with it, and backs away to land a stinging right hand. Procopio falls down to her back once more and Rosa backs off to throw a few leg kicks before Fann stands them up. Punch for punch, the two are biting down on their mouthpieces, throwing and connecting with big hooks. The pace is furious as they swing until the horn ends the second stanza.

Round 3

The third round begins much to the delight of the crowd, and Rosa comes out much like the first two with jabs and low kicks. Procopio commits to her strikes a little more, sitting down on power right hands that score on her foe. They appear to be taking turns inside the cage, with one scoring a three-punch combination and the other coming right back. Rosa blasts Procopio with a huge right hand that drops her, but Rosa decides not to follow up as Procopio scoots after her. Procopio gets back to her feet and charges forward, but Rosa is ready and grabs a Thai clinch, where she slams a few knees to the midsection of the unbeaten fighter. In this close fight, it appears one finally is starting to gain an advantage, as Procopio appears to be tiring a little. Rosa breaks up her striking with a few long punches to the body, and then pops Procopio to the body with another knee. Procopio counters a leg kick with a stiff overhand right, and then tries for a takedown but just cannot get Rosa to the canvas. Shooting from a distance, Rosa easily evades it and backs off. Rosa pumps out a right jab that disrupts Procopio's attempts to set up a looping combination, and chases her adversary down as the exciting fight comes to a close.

Round 1

Up next we switch over to a bantamweight battle that dates back nearly a thousand years, between Mongolia's Batgerel (6-1, 0-0 UFC) and China's Alateng (12-7-1, 0-0 UFC). The referee for this fight is Steve Perceval. Batgerel opens with a leg kick that whiffs, and Alateng swings and misses with a big right hand counter. Alateng scores with a combination that gets the crowd's attention early on. Keeping their range and trying to find their distance, Batgerel lands a few long, loud jabs as he circles away. Alateng blasts forward and tags his foe with a right hand, but he does not follow it up with other strikes. Alateng then launches another, which marks up the face of his Mongolian counterpart. Alateng is sitting with his right hand prepared to throw a bomb, and Batgerel charges forward with long strikes that partially land while not eating any counter strikes from the Chinese fighter. Alateng stings Batgerel with a right hand that has landed strongly several times already, and Batgerel wears it well with a little damage on his nose as he tries to make his opponent pay but is unable to do so. The first round ends.

Round 2

Batgerel starts off the second round by trying to emulate the success of his opponent, with a looping right hand that is blocked. Alateng stays patient while keeping the center of the cage, and avoids anything significant from Batgerel. The Mongolian hops forward with a few jabs, but eats another powerful right hand from Alateng for his troubles. Batgerel cracks Alateng with a left hand that surprises the Chinese combatant, and continues his aggression with more punches out of the range of that big right hand counter. Batgerel varies his offense with kicks and footwork, while Alateng seems content to rely on that right hand that Batgerel is trying and sometimes failing to avoid. Batgerel blitzes forward into a clinch, and lands a few knees before Alateng breaks free. Batgerel scores with a few successful combinations, and leverages his success into a takedown that lasts for possibly a second before Alateng pops up and makes him pay for it. Batgerel's eye is swelling up, and the second round comes to a close.

Round 3

Batgerel opens up the final round with kicks, and then a long right hand that is just short of the target. The Mongolian is just able to get away from the right hand of Alateng, and he lunges forward with a combination that makes Alateng consider shooting for a takedown. The two stand in the center of the cage and trade wildly, as Alateng spams his right hands while Batgerel tries to keep things interesting with a spinning back fist attempt that misses. The welt under Batgerel's eye is growing, and as they clinch up Batgerel jumps for a knee. Sensing the opportunity, Alateng snatches up the knee and pulls Batgerel down to the canvas. Landing in side control, Alateng employs heavy top pressure as Batgerel desperately tries to get to his feet, before getting pulled back down. In the scramble, Batgerel lands a few sharp elbows that knock his opponent's head back, but Alateng stays glued to his rival. Batgerel manages to get back to his feet, and is trying to stay active by throwing short punches with his back against the fence, until Alateng yanks Batgerel away from the fence and throws him to the cage floor. In side control with 30 seconds left, Batgerel is throwing punches from his back while reclaiming full guard, but Alateng stays heavy and drops hard shots until the horn sounds to conclude the fight.

Round 1

In the lightweight division, Ismagulov (18-2, 2-0 UFC) looks to extend his 13-fight win streak when he takes on American Top Team product Moises (12-3, 1-1 UFC). Calling the shots in this fight is referee John Sharp. Moises opens immediately with a low kick, and then chambers up and fires a huge right hand that is just shy of the target. Ismagulov throws a leg kick reply, the two trade kicks that largely do not land. As Moises closes in with a kick, the Russian scores with a quick counter right hand. Ismagulov goes to the body and then the head, and Moises responds with an overhand right that glances off his adversary. The two both miss with front kicks, and Ismagulov sits down with a combination ending with a loud leg kick. Ismagulov leans down to punch Moises in the body, and scores with a few low kicks. Another powerful low kick scores to the lead leg of Moises, and the kicks may have already taken an effect on Moises, who is not throwing nearly as much as he did in the beginning of the round. Moises switches stances, so Ismagulov switches to a one-two and backs away the Brazilian. Ismagulov sets down Moises with a left hand after checking a leg kick, and drops down some powerful punches to the body of his downed adversary. The time ticks away and the round ends with Moises on his back.

Round 2

Moises begins the second period with a few leg kicks to try to catch Ismagulov unaware. Ismagulov whiffs with a spinning back fist that sends him off balance, and he recovers and closes the distance with some short hooks. Another low kick for Ismagulov lands, and Moises' lead leg is very red and welted up already. Moises swings and misses with a wheel kick, and Ismagulov slaps in a few more low kicks while staying away from Moises' counters. Moises shoots in for a takedown, grabbing the lead leg of Ismagulov, but he is unsuccessful on his effort despite being deep on the single. Ismagulov defends himself with underhooks and reverses the position, before breaking away. Moises immediately closes in and drops down for a double leg takedown, and again Ismagulov smartly defends the attempt to press Moises against the cage. The Russian ducks a right hand and drops for a takedown of his own, but bails on it quickly. In the center of the cage, the two paw left jabs at one another, before clashing together with monster right hands a la Carlos Condit-Dan Hardy that just miss. Ismagulov evades a jab and attempts a takedown, but Moises will not have it. Ismagulov digs to the body and then spins with a back kick that partially lands, and the round ends.

Round 3

Moises tries to open the round with a kick that Ismagulov evades, and the Russian lightweight swings a spinning back kick that is partially blocked. As Moises charges forward to land a combination, Ismagulov threatens with another takedown so Moises backs away. Ismagulov scores with another low kick, and they trade in the center of the Octagon as Moises presses forward with a takedown that is stuffed. Ismagulov cracks Moises with a right hand, and appears to have caused some damage to the Brazilian's nose. Full of confidence, Ismagulov jumps in the air with a kick that gets blocked, but his varied striking attack has backed off the American Top Team fighter. Ismagulov stings Moises with an inside leg kick, and evades the two-punch counter from his opponent. Moises shoots for another unsuccessful takedown, and his offense has slowed significantly in the waning minutes of this fight. As Ismagulov tries to take his adversary down with seconds remaining to seal the fight, the bell sounds and the fight is over.

Round 1

In the heaviest fight on the card, light heavyweight newcomers collide as Ibragimov (8-0, 0-0 UFC) tries to stay unbeaten again knockout artist Jung (11-2, 0-0 UFC). The referee is Leon Roberts. The two take to the center of the cage, but neither engage for the first 30 seconds as Jung tries to paw out a jab. Without warning, Ibragimov unleashes a flurry of at least 20 furious punches that back Jung against the fence, but Jung defends the blitz well and escapes. Ibragimov throws a winging hook that falls short, and Jung stays composed and repeatedly pops out a jab. A sharp one-two connects from Jung, who damages the nose of the Russian. Ibragimov swings everything he has into a few looping punches, and none really connect as Jung keeps the jab flowing. Ibragimov cracks Jung with a left hand, and swings with reckless abandon with well over a dozen strikes that land at least in part, and drops down for a takedown. Jung stands him up and scores with a few knees, but loses his mouthpiece as Ibragimov staggers backwards. Ibragimov swings hard but his gasping for air already, as his punches get slower and take wider arcs. Jung sticks straight rights and lefts in the face of the Russian, who is getting bloodied up. The round ends, and the fans can exhale for a moment.

Round 2

Jung starts out aggressively, dodging the labored responses of Ibragimov while standing in front of his opponent landing sharp jabs. The blood continues to flow down the eye of Ibragimov, who is eating punches and unable to respond effectively. Jung stands up Ibragimov with an uppercut, and the Russian has his mouth wide open 90 seconds into this round. Jung continues to press the action with a left jab, and follows it with a strong right hand that pops his opponent's head back. Ibragimov charges forward with an abbreviated version of his mad dashes in the first round, but they are slower and do not land at a successful rate. A right hand knocks the mouthpiece out of the South Korean again, and it is replaced. Once again, the gumshield is dislodged from Jung, and Ibragimov leads forward and tries to secure a single leg takedown. The Russian succeeds briefly, but Jung springs right back up, and spins out before getting dragged back down. Jung stands up, but gets pulled back down as Roberts replaces Jung's mouth guard. The second round concludes with Jung trying to return to his feet.

Round 3

Referee Roberts warns Jung to keep control of his mouthpiece, and we are underway for the third and final round. Jung tattoos Ibragimov's face with another salvo of jabs, and Ibragimov tries to reply with looping shots that are mostly blocked. Ibragimov attempts to take the fight back down to the canvas, and after a wild scramble Jung gets up briefly, but gets planted on the cage floor, only to jump back up like an accordion. Jung reverses position and Ibragimov leaves his neck out, so Jung snatches hold of a guillotine and cinches it up to get the quick tap! The submission is the first finish of the night, and with the win Jung ejects Ibragimov from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Round 1

Two men in dire need of a win inside the Octagon are up next at bantamweight, as Soukhamthath (13-7, 2-4 UFC) contends with China's Mudaerji (9-4, 0-1 UFC). The third man in the cage is referee Thomas Fann. Soukhamthath leads off with a leg kick, and Mudaerji replies with a side kick that draws a pop from the crowd. Landing a few more side kicks, Soukhamthath tries to fake a takedown to open strikes but the Chinese fighter does not bite. Mudaerji keeps his distance and unloads a few more kicks, going to the leg and body indiscriminately. Mudaerji stings Soukhamthath with a hook kick, but the Rhode Island native recovers and shoots for a takedown. Landing it for a second, Mudaerji gets right back up and Soukhamthath keeps the pressure against the fence. Soukhamthath tries to trip his opponent to the floor but is unsuccessful, as Roberts calls for more action. Mudaerji breaks free, much to the delight of his home country fans. Mudaerji cracks Soukhamthath with a straight left hand, and is able to avoid the counter kick from "The Asian Sensation." Throwing another side kicks, Mudaerji stays at a distance that is more effective for him, as he closes the round in style by scoring a few solid punches.

Round 2

According to the commentary team, Soukhamthath reported to his corner between rounds that he broke his hand. Despite this, Soukhamthath presses forward to start the round, and uses his striking to chain into a takedown, but he cannot land it. Mudaerji circles away, where he lands a straight left hand to the body and avoids a knee from Soukhamthath. The Chinese fighter uses his footwork effectively to stay away from power punches, and he sticks out his right jab a few times to great effect. As Soukhamthath presses forward, Mudaerji counters, and Soukhamthath fires back with some jabs and a charging right hand. Soukhamthath slaps his foe's lead leg with a loud leg kick, and follows up with a right hand that backs away the rangy kicker. Comfortable to let off side kicks without worry of reprisal, Mudaerji sits down with a left straight that marks up the face of the American. Soukhamthath leaps forward and partially lands enough to bounce Mudaerji off the cage wall, but Mudaerji recovers and dances around to take potshots while avoiding any counter. A four-punch combination scores and bothers the nose of Soukhamthath, who is backed up against the fence now. The second round ends as Mudaerji lands again.

Round 3

Mudaerji stays light on his feet as the final round begins, hopping back and forth while dodging a takedown attempt and landing several significant strikes. In an exchange, Mudaerji cracks Soukhamthath and forces the American to drop to a knee, but Soukhamthath gets up and presses forward to try to respond in kind. Soukhamthath throws a body kick, but his Chinese opponent catches it and whips him to the canvas. Taking half guard, Mudaerji drops down some short elbows while briefly trapping the left arm of his grounded adversary. Mudaerji postures up to throw some long right hands, and Soukhamthath takes full guard back in the ensuing melee. Mudaerji unleashes three straight elbows, and then stands up to throw a series of looping punches that bother Soukhamthath. The American tries to set up a few submission attempts, including a triangle choke and a leglock, but none are remotely close, as Mudaerji wades back into the guard of his foe and unleashes some more serious ground-and-pound. Soukhamthath rolls over to try to escape, and grabs an arm that make the Chinese fighter release him. Mudaerji reassesses the situation, and comes back down to unload another barrage to the body and head. When the 10-second clapper sounds, Mudaerji stands up and raises his hand in the air, confident in his victory, and the crowd loves it as the fight comes to an end.

Hernandez stings Park with a combination, and he drops down for a single leg takedown that gets shucked off. Hernandez digs to the body, and tags Park over the top, while Park counters with a right hand. A two-punch combination hurts Hernandez, who shoots in for a takedown but in doing so gives up his neck. "Fluffy" gets out of the submission and fires back with combination, and drops for a low takedown that gets Park down for a moment. As Park gets up, Hernandez takes his back, and Park spins out but in the process gets taken down again. Park returns to his feet, and they hammer each other with right hands. Hernandez throws a spinning back kick in close range that dings off the body of the South Korean, and he uses the aggression to pursue another takedown, which he scores. Park defends with a kimura sweep attempt, but "Fluffy" is wise to it, although Park uses the scramble to get to his feet. Hernandez unloads with a combination to punctuate the round, which ends during his flurry of punches.

Round 2

Park leads off with a few jabs, and follows those jabs with some stiff right hands. Hernandez tags Park with a sharp one-two, but Park is unfazed. Park hurts "Fluffy" with a left hand, who backs away against the fence as the South Korean senses that his foe is in jeopardy. Hernandez recovers and shoots for a takedown, landing it briefly before Park gets back up. "Fluffy" doggedly pursues another takedown, but gives his neck up again as Park looks for a guillotine choke, so Hernandez has no choice but to bail on it. As they separate, Hernandez grabs hold of Park and slams him emphatically to the canvas. Park will not stay on the ground for long, as he springs to his feet and eats a combination while escaping. "Fluffy" scores a knee to the body, and chases Park against the fence as he drags his adversary down once more. Hernandez takes Park's back, landing a few strikes and working his way on top of the South Korean while scoring with elbows. "Fluffy" is relentless, peppering Park with powerful punches, while Park tries to roll out. As he rolls, Hernandez goes after the neck, wrapping his arms around it to set up an anaconda choke. In the ensuing scramble, Park is unable to escape and is forced to tap out. With the win, Hernandez secures his first victory inside the Octagon, to close out the preliminary card impressively.

Round 1

Opening up the main card is a 129-pound women's catchweight affair, as Inoue (13-5, 0-0 UFC) tries to make her successful debut against Wu (10-2, 1-1 UFC), with the latter coming in three pounds over the flyweight limit. Refereeing this bout is Thomas Fann. Before they come together, we can see a distinct size difference in the favor of the Chinese fighter. Inoue opens up with a takedown as Wu tries for a kick, but Wu escapes and we come back to the center of the cage. As Inoue stands in the middle of the fence, she tries to paw for some strikes, and Wu stays noncommittal on anything besides a few leg kicks. The Japanese debutant presses the action, aiming for punches that largely fall short, but she manages to score a few right hands in the process. Wu fires back with a combination started with a body shot, and Inoue jumps forward with a flying knee attempt that misses. The two clinch up, and Wu lands more successfully in the exchange. Inoue fakes for a takedown to set up a right hand, which does land. The two trade punches in the center of the cage but neither have a great deal of effect, as the round ends.

Round 2

The two start out tentative trying to find their range, as Wu lands a body kick while Inoue aims for a right hand that stings Wu. She lands another, and Wu replies with another body kick. Wu opens up with a couple kicks, and as Inoue pushes forward Wu tries to pull for a guillotine, but Inoue defends without issue. In the clinch, Inoue tries to take the fight to the ground, but she cannot get it there, and Wu makes her pay with an elbow on the break. Wu throws a high kick that Inoue just evades, and Inoue responds with punches that just miss. Inoue leads with a jab to the body, and she takes the clinch to score a few sharp elbows that force Wu to retreat. Inoue slips the counters while landing a few right hands, and takes a left hook to the chest. The Japanese fighter walks her adversary down, leaning on combinations while dodging any counters. Wu briefly attempts on an ill-advised takedown, and abandons it when realizing it will not succeed. Inoue charges after Wu, as she pours on heavy pressure in the clinch with elbows. Wu lands a knee in the clinch, and Inoue attempts a trip that Wu steps over. The second round ends in a flurry as the two trade punches.

Round 3

Inoue initiates the exchanges in the final round with jabs, as Wu tries for a takedown that has no chance of landing. The debuting Inoue tags Wu with a right, and Wu is unable to find success on the counter. Wu drops low for a takedown, and when Inoue defends with a guillotine, Wu bails on it. In the ensuing clinch, Inoue lands punches while Wu brings up a short knee. Inoue keeps heavy pressure, putting Wu against the fence, and throws another knee while Inoue cracks her with an elbow to break away. Inoue slips a jab to score an overhand right, and she repeats this one more time. A powerful one-two staggers Wu for a second, and Wu tries to take the fight down but Inoue stuffs it. Wu throws a body kick while Inoue closes the distance, causing Inoue to pause briefly. The referee in charge of the Octagon is John Sharp. Song begins the fight with a body kick, while Krantz looks to find his punching range. The crowd is electric, with a chant erupting for Song, who uses their energy to throw a spinning back kick that partially lands. Krantz scores a loud leg kick, and Song replies with a kick to the leg, one to the body and a third aimed at the head, which is blocked. Krantz presses forward and eats a body kick, but grabs hold of the clinch. Song reverses him and back away, and Krantz whiffs with a three-hook combination. Song uncorks a bomb and misses by inches, so Krantz replies with another audible leg kick. Song crashes forward and evades a counter from the American to land a straight left. As Song throws a body kick, Krantz replies with a combination that marks up Song's left eye. Krantz sits down on a left-right hook duo, and the two begin viciously swinging at one another as the first round ends.

Round 2

Krantz opens up with a leaping right hand, while Song throws more body kicks. Krantz presses forward, and Song threatens with a guillotine choke. The Texan uses the opportunity to lift Song up in the air and slam him down, and gets out of any submission danger. Krantz slowly advances position, to half guard and into mount, before Song escapes back to half guard. Song tries to secure a kimura sweep, but Krantz gets his arm out and hops to mount. The Chinese fighter perfectly executes a reversal right as Krantz is taking position, and gets on top before a scramble forces the two back to their feet. Krantz does not let him off the hook, taking the fight back down to the canvas. Krantz pulls hard for a guillotine choke and cranks it, but Song survives. With Krantz trying to take the fight down again, "The Assassin" hops on the back of his adversary, only to fall to his back with Krantz in half guard. Shucking off a minor triangle choke attempt, Krantz ends the round on top, while even offering to help his opponent up after the horn sounds.

Round 3

The round begins in a blaze, with Song pouring it on as he cracks Krantz repeatedly. Krantz wisely takes the fight back down, ending the assault but having taken some damage in the flurry in the form of a large cut on his eyebrow. Song gets up, and tags Krantz again. Laying into his opponent, Song jumps for a knee that forces Krantz to drop down and try for another takedown. The Chinese fighter thwarts the attempt, but ends up on his back with Krantz on top. "D-Rock" takes mount, and grabs the back before Song escapes, and after a scramble the exhausted fighters get to their feet, with their hands at their respective waists. Krantz windmills a Hail Mary right hand, but Song steps aside as the two look at the clock and take deep breaths. Sharp goads the fighters on as they stand in front of each other, so Song obliges with a few front kicks. The crowd grows restless in the final minute, and the two spent fighters let the time tick away as the fight comes to a merciful end for both men.

Switching gears to the flyweight division, Tiger Muay Thai standout Kara-France (19-7, 1 NC; 2-0 UFC) clashes with submission specialist De La Rosa (11-2, 2-2 UFC). The referee is Steve Perceval. Kara-France leads off with a quick jab, and walks De La Rosa down. De La Rosa stands without throwing anything of note until he eats a left hand from Kara-France, which forces him to fire back. De La Rosa shoots in for a takedown, takes the back of the Kiwi and drags him to the canvas. De La Rosa lifts up his foe and cannot throw him down, but he does hit a quick knee as Kara-France gets away with multiple fence grabs that the referee does not notice. Kara-France turns the tables suddenly, picking up and throwing De La Rosa down to the ground, surprising the grappler. Kara-France backs away, his message sent, and he continues to circle away and avoid De La Rosa's high kick and punches. De La Rosa scores a combination on his opponent's face, and Kara-France responds in kind. Kara-France relies on a double jab, while De La Rosa triples it up. The fighter from New Zealand lands a few effective low kicks, but De La Rosa times a takedown that Kara-France spins out of and returns to his feet. The round ends.

Kara-France opens up with a double jab, and then a few combinations that tag De La Rosa. The Texan throws back, but he stands upright as Kara-France puts him down with a fierce left-right combination. De La Rosa recovers well, and stings Kara-France with a combination. The two trade wildly, and Kara-France kicks the leg out from his opponent. De La Rosa rolls for a leg, but Kara-France steps out of it and lets De La Rosa stand back up. Another leg kick from Kara-France bothers De La Rosa, so the American decides to even the score with one of his own. Kara-France sticks to that plan, and peppers De La Rosa's lead leg with several more heavy leg kicks. De La Rosa pumps out a jab repeatedly that breaks up some of Kara-France's stronger combinations, as Kara-France loads up with a right hand that falls short. When Kara-France throws another leg kick, De La Rosa is ready for it with a three-piece combination. De La Rosa cracks Kara-France with a right hand, opening a cut around the eye of the New Zealand native. Kara-France scores with a capoeira kick, and De La Rosa raises his arms in the air to show he was not affected. As the 10-second clapper sounds, De La Rosa whiffs with a spinning wheel kick, and the second round comes to a close.

Round 3

De La Rosa comes out firing at the start of the round, clipping Kara-France with a right hand. Kara-France responds with his own right hand, and then a few leg kicks to irritate the American. After a tentative period where neither are willing to exchange, Kara-France cracks De La Rosa with a right hand that backs him up. De La Rosa sticks to the double left jab, and in an exchange he wings a left off the side of Kara-France's head that causes him to stumble for a moment. Kara-France replies furiously, unloading over a dozen body shots and some powerful head strikes to open a cut on De La Rosa's forehead. Undaunted, the American waves on his opponent, and Kara-France backs away. Kara-France sits on a body kick, as De La Rosa is content to counter. Kara-France ducks a straight left to club his foe with a right hook, and alternates leg and body kicks as he keeps his distance. Largely staying out of the range of De La Rosa's counter right hook, Kara-France works on De La Rosa's lead leg with a few more kicks that impact his movement. Kara-France ducks under a head kick and salutes to the camera, and the two continue to swing at one another as this exciting scrap comes to an end.

In what many are calling the prospective "Fight of the Night," welterweights do battle as dos Santos (21-5, 7-1 UFC) tries to make it eight straight inside the Octagon against the ultra-durable Li (16-5, 8-3 UFC). The referee drawing the assignment for the co-headliner is John Sharp. The two touch gloves, and Li starts by pawing out a left jab while dos Santos throws a front kick. Dos Santos opens up with a few more kicks, all while staying away from Li's power punches. After a lot of feinting and faking, Li throws a low kick so dos Santos replies with one to the body. Coming up short with an uppercut, dos Santos throws a body kick that gets caught, but Li barely misses a huge counter as dos Santos rolls away. "Capoeira" misses with a long one-two, and Li aims a jab at the Brazilian's midsection. Dos Santos sinks in a strong leg kick, and follows that with two hooks that graze the chin of the Chinese fighter. Dos Santos attempts several more reaching kicks, but neither has really committed on their shots. Li tags dos Santos with a combination, but dos Santos circles out before taking any serious harm. A few more body kicks score for dos Santos, who then throws a leg kick, but on the counter Li sneaks in a right hand that causes a small cut to appear under the eye of the Brazilian. Li unleashes a huge right hand that drops dos Santos with 10 seconds left, and as he springs back to his feet Li cracks him with a knee, and the round ends in the clinch.

Round 2

Li begins the second round with another clubbing right hand that staggers dos Santos, who tries for a spinning back kick that skips off the side of Li's body. When Li throws a low kick, dos Santos counters with an overhand right. The two connect with kicks, and dos Santos backs off to float out a few range-finding front kicks. Dos Santos scores a body kick, and uses that to spin with another kick, while trying to follow that with a right hand that does not land clean. The crowd chants for Li as dos Santos gets clipped on the way in, and the Brazilian does not appear to be comfortable in the cage. Li launches a three-punch combination that backs off dos Santos, and when dos Santos tries to come back, Li counters him. As dos Santos closes the distance, Li tries to catch him on the way in, as dos Santos swings and misses wildly. Although he misses with a spinning wheel kick attempt, dos Santos does land another to the body. Li stands up the Brazilian in an exchange, and dos Santos appears to have gotten the better in that flurry. The horn sounds and the second round is over.

Round 3

The crowd erupts for Li as the final round begins. Dos Santos immediately presses the action with several kicks, going to the body and up top. A few failed spinning attempts come from dos Santos, but it is dos Santos pressing the action in this round. Dos Santos dives in for a low takedown attempt, but Li slips away without issue. The Brazilian leaps forward with a knee, and lunges with several reaching hooks that do not connect. Li stings dos Santos with a short right hand, and dos Santos fires back with looping shots that are missing the mark. Dos Santos throws a kick but Li catches it and throws him to the ground. Dos Santos gets up, but slips, and Li is unable to capitalize on it. Charging at his foe, dos Santos cannot seem to hit the target, although he continues to push forward. With seconds left, Li buckles dos Santos with an uppercut, blasting him against the cage and setting him down with five powerful shots punctuated with a fierce right hook. Sharp has seen enough, and he waves off the contest as the home crowd goes crazy. In what may be the biggest win for Li's career, he is the first man to ever finish dos Santos with strikes in his 26-fight career.

Strawweight Title Fight:
Jessica Andrade vs. Weili Zhang

Round 1

It's time for the main event of the morning, as Andrade (20-6, 11-4 UFC) looks to defend her strawweight belt for the first time when she squares off with surging Chinese finisher Zhang (19-1, 3-0 UFC). Referee Leon Roberts will be keeping a watchful eye on this marquee matchup, and we are underway. Zhang opens up with a few leg kicks, and dodges the immediate counter punches of Andrade. In an exchange, Zhang tags Andrade with a right hand and hurts her, and the Brazilian rushes forward to initiate the clinch. The Chinese fighter uses this opportunity to unload several strong elbows with her back against the fence. Sensing the champion is hurt, Zhang pours it on and hammers Andrade with knees, sending Andrade falling backwards. "Magnum" chases her down and unleashes a barrage that causes Andrade to crumple to the canvas, and Roberts stops the fight. We have a new champion, with the first Chinese fighter to ever win UFC gold in one of the quickest stoppages in divisional history! As elated as the crowd was for Li to earn the win in the previous bout, it pales in comparison to their jubilation as Zhang captured the belt in China.
