By The Numbers: UFC Fight Night 239

Once Marcin Tybura dragged Tai Tuivasa into his world, the result was all but academic.

The Polish heavyweight absorbed some heavy artillery from his Aussie foe early, then secured a takedown, unleashed heavy ground-and-pound and rendered his foe unconscious with a rear-naked choke 4:08 into the opening stanza of their headlining bout at UFC Fight Night 239 on Saturday night. Tybura is 8-2 in UFC competition since 2020, while Tuivasa has lost his last four Octagon appearances.

143: Significant strikes landed by St. Preux, the most of his promotional tenure. His previous best of 76 came in a split-decision loss to Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Fight Night 104 on Feb. 4, 2017. By comparison, Nzechukwu landed 106 — also a personal best.

5: Split decisions in UFC history with scorecards of 28-27, 27-28 and 28-27 scorecards, according to MMADecisions.com. The featherweight clash between Christian Rodriguez and Isaac Dulgarian — won by Rodriguez — joined this group on Saturday. However, Rodriguez vs. Dulgarian was the only one of these cards that didn’t include a point deduction.

7: Takedowns landed in 16 attempts for Dulgarian, who landed all seven of his tries in the first two stanzas while logging 8:59 of control time. Dulgarian went 0-for-7 on takedowns and had just 23 seconds of control time in Round 3.

48: Significant strikes landed by Rodriguez. By comparison, Dulgarian landed 22. Rodriguez notably held a 35-to-5 edge in the final stanza.

1,933: Days since the first meeting between Macy Chiasson and Pannie Kianzad at “The Ultimate Fighter 28” finale on Nov. 30, 2018. After submitting Kianzad in the second stanza back then, Chiasson ended things more quickly in the rematch, tapping her adversary with a rear-naked choke (again) at the 3:54 mark of Round 1.

11: Finishes for Gerald Meerschaert, tying him with Anderson Silva for the most in the history of the middleweight division. “GM3” put Bryan Barberena to sleep with a face crank 4:23 into the second stanza of their featured clash.

4: Consecutive victories for Mike Davis, tying him with Renato Carneiro for the third-longest active winning streak in the UFC’s lightweight division behind Islam Makhachev (12) and Paddy Pimblett (five). In his first appearance since October 2022, “Beast Boy” tapped out Natan Levy with an arm-triangle choke at the 1:43 mark of Round 2.

7: Career victories via rear-naked choke for Jafel Filho, who submitted Ode Osbourne with the maneuver 4:27 into the opening round of their flyweight scrap. Filho has finished 10 of his 16 career triumphs by way of submission.

43: Total strikes landed by Filho. By comparison, Osbourne landed just one. Filho also landed his only takedown, logged 3:21 of control time and attempted 2 submissions in a lopsided triumph.

42: Significant striking deficit for Danny Silva in a split-decision victory over Joshua Culibao at featherweight. While Silva was outlanded by an 87-to-45 count in significant strikes, he was successful on four of nine takedowns and enjoyed 5:28 of control time in the win.

1:38: Time of Jaqueline Amorim’s first-round armbar of Cory McKenna, making it the fourth-fastest submission in UFC strawweight history. The quickest: Emily Whitmire’s 61-second tapout of Aleksandra Albu at UFC on ESPN 1 on Feb. 17, 2019.

17: Fights in UFC history to be finished via leg kicks, after Thiago Moises took out the legs of promotional newcomer Mitch Ramirez 15 seconds into Round 3 of their lightweight matchup.

64: Significant strike advantage for Chad Anheliger in a unanimous decision triumph over Charalampos Grigoriou at bantamweight. This included a 51-to-8 advantage in Round 3.
