Calvin Kattar will get his shot at one of the golden geese of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s featherweight division when he toes the line against former 145-pound titleholder Max Holloway in the UFC on ABC 1 headliner this Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The result figures to carry wide-ranging implications for both men.

Kattar enters his latest assignment on the strength of back-to-back victories. The 32-year-old Methuen, Massachusetts, native last competed at UFC on ESPN 13, where he took a unanimous decision from Dan Ige in their July 15 main event. Holloway, meanwhile, finds himself on the rebound following consecutive losses to Alexander Volkanovski. He has never lost three fights in a row.

As UFC on ABC 1 “Holloway vs. Kattar” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the card have generated to this point:

2,173: Significant strikes landed by Holloway in UFC competition, placing him first on the promotion’s all-time list. He ranks ahead of Joanna Jedrzejczyk (1,711), Donald Cerrone (1,710), Frankie Edgar (1,703) and Michael Bisping (1,567).

10: First-round finishes on the Kattar resume, accounting for nearly half of his career total (22). His list of victims includes Ricardo Lamas, Chris Fishgold and Rodrigo Almeida.

40: Years of age for Matt Brown. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born in Jamestown, Ohio, on Jan. 10, 1981. John Lennon’s “(Just Like) Starting Over” was the No. 1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 list at the time. A quarterfinalist on Season 7 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Brown faces former World Extreme Cagefighting champion Carlos Condit in the co-main event.

13: Submission wins under Condit’s belt, providing “The Natural Born Killer” with 42% of his professional total (31). Included among them were five armbars, three rear-naked chokes, one triangle choke, one triangle armbar, one kimura and one guillotine choke.

791: Days since Santiago Ponzinibbio last competed inside the Octagon. Due to injuries and illness, the American Top Team-trained “Gente Boa” has not appeared since he knocked out Neil Magny in the fourth round of their UFC Fight Night 140 headliner on Nov. 17, 2018. Ponzinibbio returns to the cage in a welterweight showcase opposite Jingliang Li.

85: Seconds needed for Li to punch out Dhiego Lima at UFC Fight Night 66 in May 2015. It remains the fastest finish of the China Top Team star’s 23-fight career.

.816: Cumulative winning percentage between the three men—Jackie Gosh, Logan Storley and Kevin Holland—who have defeated Joaquin Buckley. They own a combined record of 40-9. Buckley squares off with Alessio Di Chirico in a three-round middleweight feature.

3: Consecutive defeats for Di Chirico. The 31-year-old Italian has followed back-to-back wins over Oluwale Bamgbose and Julian Marquez with losses to Holland, Makhmud Muradov and Zak Cummings.

2: Sub-minute stoppage victories on the Punahele Soriano ledger. The undefeated Hawaiian put away Rafael Celestino with punches in 31 seconds at Titan Fighting Championship 49 on April 6, 2018, then did the same to James Horne in 45 seconds at V3 Fights 69 some two months later. Soriano carries a 7-0 record into his middleweight battle with Dusko Todorovic on the main card.

72: Significant strikes by which Todorovic outlanded Dequan Townsend in his promotional debut at UFC on ESPN 16 in Oct. 3. The Serb connected with 85 such strikes and absorbed only 13 in return, as he stopped Townsend with punches 3:15 into the second round and improved to 10-0 with nine finishes.

24: Years of age for Yanan Wu. The youngest fighter on the card, she was born on April 18, 1996 in Chaoyang, China—a city of some 3,000,000 people in the Liaoning province. Wu meets organizational newcomer Joselyne Edwards Laboriel on the undercard.

299: Combined victories between the 22 fighters scheduled to compete at the event. Condit holds the most wins (31) of any fighter on the card, while Brown has been saddled with the most losses (17).
