Brandon Moreno was simply a level above Amir Albazi.

The former flyweight champ styled on Albazi for the vast majority of five rounds in the UFC Edmonton headliner, earning a clear-cut unanimous decision triumph on Saturday at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. While Moreno rebounds from back-to-back losses at the hands of Brandon Royval and Alexandre Pantoja, Albazi suffers his first setback in six Octagon appearances — and sees his title hopes take a significant hit in the process.

10: Career flyweight triumphs for Moreno, tying him with Deiveson Figueiredo for fourth most in UFC history. Only Joseph Benavidez (13), Demetrious Johnson (13) and Alexandre Pantoja (12) have won more at 125 pounds.

1,131: Career significant strikes landed by Moreno. By landing 132 significant strikes against Albazi on Saturday night, “Assassin Baby” surpassed Demetrious Johnson (1,059) for the No. 1 spot in UFC flyweight history.

69: Significant strike advantage for Moreno, who outlanded Albazi by a 132-to-63 count over five rounds. “Assassin Baby” enjoyed notable advantages of 29 to 6 in Round 2, 31 to 12 in Round 3 and 32 to 9 in Round 5.

9: Seconds of control time for Albazi, who landed just one of four takedown attempts and was largely picked apart on the feet by Moreno during the fight.

7: UFC flyweight wins for Erin Blanchfield, tying her with Lauren Murphy, Joanne Wood, Miranda Maverick and Manon Fiorot for fifth most in the history of the division. Blanchfield defeated Rose Namajunas via unanimous decision the evening’s five-round co-headliner on Saturday.

110: Significant strikes landed by Blanchfield. By comparison, Namajunas landed 94. Blanchfield outlanded her foe 25 to 23 in Round 2, 11 to 9 in Round 3, 40 to 25 in Round 4 and 15 to 7 in Round 5. Namajuas, meanwhile, held a 30-to-19 advantage in Round 1. Blanchfield also held a 193-to-101 edge in total strikes landed.

8:54: Total control time for Blanchfield. Namajunas, meanwhile, logged just 15 seconds of control in defeat. “Cold Blooded” was at her best in this area in Rounds 3 and 5, where she racked up a combined 7:46 of control time.

2-2: Record for Namajunas since moving to 125 pounds from strawweight.

130: Total strikes landed by Jasmine Jasudavicius in a third-round submission victory against Ariane Lipski at flyweight. By comparison, Lipski landed 43. Jasudavicius landed the majority of her offense on the canvas, as she was also successful on three of five takedowns while logging 5:44 of total control time.

16: Career takedowns landed by Jasudavicius at 125 pounds, tying her with Roxanne Modafferi for the seventh most in the history of the division.

45:29: Career control time for Jasudavicius, fifth most in UFC women’s flyweight history.

4: Consecutive bouts that have ended inside the distance for Dustin Stoltzfus after his first-round knockout of Marc-Andre Barriault in their middleweight bout on Saturday night. Stoltzfus is 2-2 in those bouts, winning in both instances where he landed a knockdown and losing on both occasions when he was knocked down.

5: Consecutive victories for Aiemann Zahabi, who took a three-round verdict against Pedro Munhoz in a preliminary bantamweight contest. Zahabi is tied with Umar Nurmagomedov and Montel Jackson for the third-longest active winning streak in the UFC at 135 pounds.

.520: Significant striking accuracy for Zahabi, who was successful on 109 of 206 attempts. Munhoz, meanwhile, threw more but was less accurate, as he landed 95 of 327 significant strikes — a 29% success rate.

22: Octagon appearances at 135 pounds for Munhoz, the most in UFC bantamweight history. The Brazilian is 2-7 with one no contest in the Las Vegas-based promotion since June 2019.

1: Stoppage loss in 32 professional appearances for Victor Henry. “La Mangosta” was finished for the first time in his career when he succumbed to a Charles Jourdain guillotine choke 3:43 into Round 2 of their bantamweight encounter.

3: Consecutive submission victories in UFC competition for Youssef Zalal, who tapped Jack Shore with an arm-triangle choke 59 seconds into the second round of their featherweight bout. That ties Zalal with welterweight No. 1 contender Shavkat Rakhmonov for the longest active submission streak in the promotion.

6: Takedowns landed in 10 attempts for Alexander Romanov in a unanimous decision victory against Rodrigo Nascimento at heavyweight. That’s a career best in 10 UFC appearances for the Moldovan fighter.

26: Career takedowns landed by Romanov. That’s good for No. 4 all-time in UFC heavyweight history, just ahead of Randy Couture (25) and Stipe Miocic (25).

12:25: Total control time for Cody Gibson in a unanimous decision triumph over Chad Anheliger at bantamweight. “The Renegade” was also successful on five of six takedown tries and attempted two submissions.
