The Ultimate Fighting Championship made a splash on Saturday with its first event in Prague, bringing a card with guaranteed action that delivered. UFC Fight Night 145 featured the rise of a new title contender at light heavyweight, a longtime heavyweight who might be calling it quits and an unusually timed finish that is more common than one might think.

VITEJTE!: The UFC held its first event in the Czech Republic. The promotion has now staged events in 25 different countries beyond the United States in its 25-year lifespan.

DROP THE HAMMER: By smashing Jan Blachowicz in the third round of their main event, Thiago Santos picked up his 11th knockout with the organization. The finish tied him with Anderson Silva and Anthony Johnson for the second-most knockouts in the history of the company. They all trail Vitor Belfort, who has 12.

NEW-WORLD MAN: Santos earned three post-fight bonuses for his wins across 15 appearances at middleweight. Since moving up to light heavyweight, all three of his victories in the division have earned him post-fight bonuses.

CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE: After Stefan Struve left his gloves inside the Octagon following his submission win over Marcos Rogerio de Lima, “Skyscraper” potentially ends his career with several noteworthy achievements as a UFC heavyweight. They include the second-most finishes (11), the second-most submissions (six) and the third-most appearances (22). He is tied with Stipe Miocic (eight) for the most post-fight bonuses.

ACHILLES’ NECK: Rogerio de Lima has alternated wins and losses in each of his last eight UFC bouts dating back to his knockout of Igor Pokrajac at UFC Fight Night 58 in 2014. His four losses have come by four different types of choke.

FOUR-FOUR-FOUR: As she suffered a loss on the scorecards to Liz Carmouche, Lucie Pudilova’s record dropped to 8-4. Currently, she holds four wins by stoppage -- two by technical knockout and two by submission -- and four decision wins, with all four of her losses coming by decision.

DURABLE DODSON: In dropping a decision to Petr Yan, John Dodson was saddled with his 11th career loss. He has still never been finished in his 31-fight career, with all 11 losses coming at the hands of the judges.

ARLOVSKIAN NOSE: In going three full rounds with Magomed Ankalaev, Klidson Farais de Abreu reached the scorecards for the first time in his 16-fight career.

THE LAST SECOND: Dwight Grant knocked out Carlo Pedersoli Jr. in the last second of the first round. While this was the 17th such occurrence in the UFC in Round 1, more fights have ended at 4:59 than any other time by far. The next most frequent stoppage time has occurred at 1:54 -- 10 fewer times than 4:59.

SEEING RED AGAIN: By tapping out Veronica Macedo with a rear-naked choke, Gillian Robertson earned her third submission in the UFC, tying her with four others for the most in UFC women’s divisional history.

TRIFECTA FROM HELL: Having made her promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 93 in 2016, Macedo has lost her first three bouts under the UFC banner by knockout, decision and now submission. In doing so, Macedo became the second female fighter in UFC history to lose her first three bouts in three different ways, joining Angela Magana.

SNAP BACK TO REALITY: Rustam Khabilov and Michel Prazeres came into the event riding six- and eight-fight winning streaks. Both were defeated, with Carlos Diego Ferreira handing Khabilov a decision loss and the debuting Ismail Naurdiev topping Prazeres on the scorecards. According to fellow MMA statistician Nick Dwyer, the two combined for two-thirds of the winning streak momentum entering UFC Fight Night 145.

STIFFER COMPETITION: In winning a decision over Prazeres, Naurdiev won his first fight on the scorecards since his MMA debut in 2012. Before going the distance with Prazeres, he had finished his opponent inside the first two rounds in all 16 of his wins.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN: Coming into UFC Fight Night 145, the UFC had never travelled to the Czech Republic, Dodson had never lost consecutive bouts (30 fights) and Joel Alvarez had never gone the distance (16 fights).

DA CIDADE DE DEUS: Having walked out to “Marreta Da CDD Para O Mundo” by MC Isaac Saradinho in his last 15 bouts dating back to his UFC 183 appearance in 2015, Santos has amassed a 12-3 record with the track, with 10 knockout wins in that stretch.

BROWNIE POINTS: Robertson made her way out to the cage accompanied by “I’ll Beat Yo Ass” by UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley featuring Wiz Khalifa and submitted Macedo. She became the first fighter in company history to ever walk out to this track.
