Robert Radomski vs. Mateusz Piskorz

Round 1

Almost immediately, a Piskorz inside low kick strays inside and catches Radomski on the cup, but he shakes it off quickly and the pair get to throwing leather. Piskorz throws an outside low kick that Radomski catches, running him back to the fence. The Pawel Nastula understudy stands Radomski up and lands a series of sharp knees to the face in the clinch. They separate and Piskorz lets loose with more free-kicking offense, pelting Radomski to the legs, then flinging head kicks upstairs. They come together in the clinch, so Piskorz runs Radomski into the fence and pummels for position, seeking a takedown. Radomski gets an overhook and stuffs his takedown efforts, landing short slaps from the clinch while fending him off. Piskorz won't be deterred, grinding away until he's able to yank his foe to the mat. Radomski throws up an armbar, but Piskorz picks him up off the mat, hurls him aside and gets busy with ground-and-pound. Radomski replaces his full guard and ties Piskorz up until the bell.

The Katowice native looks for a kimura from his back from full guard, but Piskorz escapes and punches away. Referee Lukasz Porebski inexplicably chooses to stand them up, but it doesn't deter Piskorz, who dings Radomski on the feet on the restart, then runs him back into the cage. Radomski gets free, then surprises with a well-timed double-leg takedown, claiming top position for himself. Radomski suddenly springs to life, cutting through Piskorz's guard, taking his back and threatening with a rear-naked choke before the round expires.

Round 3

Radomski is letting his hands go to start the third, flurrying with two- and three-punch combos on a fatigued Piskorz, who can't attack with the same energy and aggression as earlier in the fight. Radomski circles to his right, sticking the jab out and putting more punches behind it as Piskorz simply covers up, rather than circling, to avoid his strikes.

Radomski's striking wore out Piskorz.
Piskorz, perhaps sensing the fight slipping away, starts firing his own punches back, cracking Radomski with a right cross. Radomski, however, continues to mix in the head and body attack, landing cleaner and with more volume on the plodding Piskorz. Piskorz runs Radomski into the cage again, desperate for a takedown that could help him ride the fight out, but Radomski gets over-unders and thwarts his attempts, while landing knees to the body. With under 10 seconds to go, Radomski surprises by dropping down and completing a lateral drop to take top position before the final bell.

On the restart, Celinski continues inching forward at his target, while Kondraciuk loads up on big, hooking counters. Celinski begins to get more patient, waiting for his opponent to attack before trying to time him with right hooks. He lands two good ones on a rushing “Tomaj,” who then thinks better of his aggression. Celinski starting to connect with cleaner counters, putting his right hand over Kondraciuk's left in each exchange. Kondraciuk brings the left kick to the body back, targeting Celinski's ribs for a moment. However, Celinski starts utilizing his jab again, stopping Kondraciuk's offense. Another series of single, straight right hands for Celinski score, then he goes back to popping his jab in Kondraciuk's face. Kondraciuk is fatigued and getting desperate, allowing Celinski to land another stream of hard rights. Celinski is all over his man with both hands now, rocking him back to the fence. Kondraciuk goes down to his knees for a second, but regains his feet while eating enormous amounts of punishment. Celinski flurries with lefts, then when “Tomaj” gets up right, Celinski unloads hooks and uppercuts. Referee Tomasz Bronder is looking on, but Kondraciuk is managing to throw back in desperation, just enough to keep this fight going. Incredible toughness by Kondraciuk. He's getting raked with everything Celinski throws.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: P. Pedziszewski/Sherdog.com

Celinski did a number on Kondraciuk.
Now Celinski goes the clinch and unloads with knees. Massive damage as Kondraciuk slinks down the fence again, wilting under the pressure. As Celinski keeps kneeing him to the head, Kondraciuk “plays the game” so to speak, putting his hand down on the mat to make himself a downed opponent. He succeeds, as Celinski cracks him with an illegal knee that Tomasz Bronder pauses the fight for. Bronder deducts a point from Celinski, but while he's in the process of doing so, Kondraciuk's corner realizes that a point deduction isn't exactly going to help their fighter, and throw the towel in.
