Kimbo Slice-Dada 5000 Result Overturned to No Contest by Texas Commission

The result of the Bellator 149 clash between Kimbo Slice and Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris has officially been overturned to a no-contest following Slice’s failed drug test.

The change was noted on Monday by MMAJunkie.com, reporting that Slice -- whose real name is Kevin Ferguson -- has reached a settlement with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation over his recent suspension.

Slice, 42, tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone and was flagged for elevated testosterone levels following his Feb. 19 knockout win over Harris in Houston. Harris reportedly suffered renal failure and multiple heart attacks during the bout, after which he remained in a local hospital for more than a week.

According to MMAJunkie.com, Slice has agreed to pay a $2,500 fine and his license to fight in the state of Texas has been revoked. With the overturning of the result, Slice’s mixed martial arts record reverts to 5-2 with one no-contest. The former boatyard brawler is slated to rematch James Thompson this summer in London as the main event of Bellator 158.
