UFC 294 Weigh-in Results: 2 Fighters Heavy

After a rocky build that saw late changes to the main and co-main event, the UFC 294 card is finally set.

The main event will see Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski move up in weight to challenge Islam Makhachev for the lightweight belt on short notice. The headliners had no trouble making weight, although the same couldn't be said for two preliminary participants. Victoria Dudakova and Mike Breeden came in heavy for their respective bouts, and both fighters have been fined percentages of their respective purses. Dudakova came in .6 pounds over the strawweight limit for her fight against Jinh Yu Frey, while Breeden clocked in 3.5 pounds above the lightweight cap for his bout against Anshul Jubli.

Makhachev (24-1) was supposed to rematch Charles Oliveira in the main event, but will instead face off against another familiar face in Volkanovski (26-2). The pair faced off earlier this year in February, where Makhachev took a closely contested unanimous decision victory in a back-and-forth fight. "The Great" has since rebounded with a featherweight title defense against Yair Rodriguez, while the Dagestani fighter hasn't been in the cage since. Makhachev came in at 155 pounds, while Volkanovski stepped on the scale weighing 154.5 pounds.

UFC 294 prelims begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on ESPN+, before the main card commences at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT on pay-per-view.
