CFFC 25 to Feature Tim Williams vs. Noah Faunce, a Heavyweight Champion Crowning, and the return of Charlie Brenneman!

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Atlantic City, NJ – On Saturday, June 22, 2013, Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) returns to the Valley Forge Hotel & Casino with CFFC 25: Williams vs. Faunce in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The main event will feature Tim Williams (7-1) against rising prospect Noah Faunce (3-1). The event will also crown CFFC’s first heavyweight champion when undefeated prospect Chris Birchler (4-0) takes on the biggest challenge of his career when he takes on the hard hitting veteran, Joe Stripling (7-4). The event will also feature the CFFC returns of Charlie Brenneman (17-5) and Gemiyale Adkins (8-5).

Williams’ last CFFC appearance was a controversial loss due to a cut from Dustin Jacoby for the vacant CFFC middleweight title. “I feel like my loss to Dustin Jacoby, it was way too early in the fight to be stopped,” said the Millville, NJ native. “I wanted to have more then a couple minutes with him. He landed two nice elbows, but until that point he was losing. But, I lost and he won. I would love to fight him again.”

Although Williams lost that bout, he was asked to try out for The Ultimate Fighter Season 17 in which Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen were casted as coaches. “My experience on TUF was awesome,” continued Williams. “I loved being involved in the biggest name in MMA. It’s my dream to be there and I fell short. I could say I was injured, but then I'd sound like I was making an excuse like I lost my last fight by a cut. I just got to get back in the gym and do what I got to do to make sure it doesn't happen again.” Williams lost a close decision to get into the house and will take one step closer to his dreams with a win over, Faunce, an opponent he did not want to discuss.

Before fighting at middleweight, Faunce was making a living in the welterweight division. He went 8-0 during the amateur ranks but lost his pro debut. He then won two in a row and signed with CFFC a year ago. However, Faunce had difficulty making weight and the bout was scratched. “Last time I was training for that fight with CFFC, I was pushing through an injury I just had surgery on (knee),” said Faunce. “I assumed without physical therapy I'd make my come back. I was wrong and it limited my training. This time I’m 110% healthy and training with guys who are like family. Last fight with CFFC I was with a team I wasn't completely comfortable with and mentally it had a huge impact on me. This time around I just feel confident and prepared.” Faunce’s first fight at middleweight came against Ryan Contaldi (8-8) and Faunce ended that fight with a TKO victory in the first round.

Considered one of the top heavyweight prospects in the country, Chris Birchler is honored to fight for CFFC’s first heavyweight title. A fight he is very confident that he can win. “I believe CFFC is the best organization in the North East and it will be an honor to be their heavyweight champion,” said Birchler. “I plan on going out there and getting my hand raised. Joe seems like a tough guy and I'm glad he stepped up for this fight but in my mind the fight is already won, I just have to execute.”

Joe Stripling has won five of his last six fights and in each victory he was able to finish his opponent. He too has put himself in a great position to become the first CFFC heavyweight champion. "To fight for the CFFC heavyweight title is the biggest opportunity of my life,” said Stripling. “I have been training a long, long time and to finally have this come my way is a dream come true. My opponent is a great wrestler who trains with a great team, AMA Fight Club, but he is a wrestler. I am an exciting fighter who likes to stand and bang and I don't think he's ready for my style. I'm predicting the fight to go into the third round with me finishing him via something spectacular. I feel like God has blessed me with this amazing opportunity and I'm ready to take full advantage of it!"

In other action, UFC veteran Charlie Brenneman will try to make it 2-0 in CFFC when he takes on veteran Gemiyale Adkins. After moving to the lightweight division, Brenneman has pulled off two submission in a row including at Peruvian necktie against Jeremy Castro at CFFC 23. Adkins made his CFFC debut in 2011 after starting his career with five straight wins. He fought at 190 pounds and has now trimmed down to the lightweight division. Adkins, who is coming off submission victory in the first round against Adam Penberthy last month, will be eager to test his skills against a fighter of Brenneman’s caliber.

The rest of the pro card will feature a plethora of talented and exciting fighters including the CFFC debut of Darrell Horcher (7-1) when he takes on Mike Bannon (4-1). Aung La N Sang (14-8) will look to rebound against Rich Patishnock (5-1) who is coming off an upset victory over Igor Gracie at World Series of Fighting. Also in action will be CFFC mainstays, Travis Wynn, Myron Baker, and Aaron Bicking.

CFFC 25 will also feature the best amateur talent in the tri-state area including fighters from AMA, Balance, and Brazen Boxing and MMA.
